Does Any Average Blogger Make Money with Tweets that are Sponsored?

Are you an “A” blogger or just an average kinda blogger?  It is a possibility that it makes a very BIG difference as to whether or not you can make money on Twitter with tweets that are sponsored by advertisers.

You have heard several A bloggers proclaim the virtues of this fabulous method of making serious money online.  You sign up with an advertising company as an affiliate Twitter advertiser and you input your Twitter name and real quick they will tell you how much advertisers will be willing to pay for you just tweeting their ads.

Of course the program explains that your number of Twitter followers makes a difference in the payment per tweet amount.  So I signed up, after all I have about 10,000 followers and that’s nothing to sneeze at.  Holy smokes they say that advertisers will be willing to pay about twenty bucks per tweet, do I want to activate my account?  Hell yes!

So I gave them my name, address, contacts and social security number, after all I will have to report my hundreds of thousands of dollars of income from this new program right?  All I would have to do is sit back, relax and wait for the advertising offers to come rolling in.

Chirp, chirp, chirp, not even a peep to tweet.  So I’m thinking maybe $20 is too much, lets lower it to $18, silence, lower to $15, nothing, lower to $9 per tweet.
The pins dropping around here are deafening.

Okay, so lower it right down to five bucks and lets get this sucker moving, right?
Nothing, no offers.  I could become a lot more famous by putting my hat on sideways and pants on the floor.

So I took the banner ads down.  I never promote anything that I do not believe in, and then I notice that this big time advertising company is running a massive campaign to sign up more affiliate publishers and they seem to be giving away just about every major computer toy that anyone would ever want, for just signing up with them as a Twitter advertiser.

Now this got me to thinking.  Who told me about this in the first place?  Well as I recall it was John Chow, certainly an A blogger, and I signed up under his affiliate link.   I believe John when he tells how much money he is making with this program.  After all he and the other A bloggers are the very best word of mouth promoters aren’t they?

Looking back, I have some thoughts that came to mind, lets see what you think.
Suppose an advertising company could sign up millions of affiliate tweeters, and suppose that company could build a gigantic database of names, contacts, and “Social Security Numbers”!  Would that database have value?

I seem to recall once on one of the credit card company affiliate programs I looked in to, but did not sign up for, that they considered the full name, address, contact and SS numbers as being worth $35.00 each.  Now I am not saying that this is an ulterior motive for this particular advertising company, but it does come to mind.

Lets hear it from all of you satisfied tweeters out there.  All of you average Joes, and mommy bloggers, and hobbyists, that tweet for sponsored ads.  Please share with our readers as to whether or not you have made a ton of money with this program, or if in fact you have made “any” money with this program.

I have a feeling that it will be primarily the big names in the blogging world that are seeing any cash flow.  I know that advertising on Twitter does work and that people do make money with Twitter ads.  For instance, Leo LaPorte, the tech guy, told on a recent podcast that just before he left for the CES show in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago that Ford offered him $10,000 for just one retweet of a Ford ad.  Leo being the most ethical guy that I know of on the internet turned the offer down.

Please let us know your thoughts.

How to Search all Craigslist Cities at Once

No tool needed.  This is free!

Craigslist.org is set up so as to keep the buyers and the sellers in close proximity to each other in order to facilitate one on one connections, and to lessen the chances of fraud.  If you are selling or buying something you must log in with the city that you reside in or are that you are interested in.

They do not want you to be dealing with people in remote locations as there is no way to determine trust.  There is no voting system like on Ebay where you earn a trust score, so Craigslist wants to keep it local.

Now there is a way to: “Search all Craigslist Cities at Once”, using a specific Google search.

There are many specific websites that have been set up to allow you to search multiple Craigslist listings all at one time.  These tools no doubt work and the entrepreneurs that built those website tools are to be commended.

However it is very easy to do and requires no special online tool.  You already have just what you need and it is called Google.

Here is all you have to do is to enter the following in your Google search box:

site:craigslist.org [keyword]

Make sure there is no space between site: and craigslist, and make sure there is a space between: craigslist.org and the keyword.  You also can use part numbers or use boolean searches, or use quotes to narrow things down.

Then once you find what you are looking for you should contact the buyer or seller and explain that you do not live locally and make your fair and honest offering.

If you like this post, please use the tweetmeme button at the top, or your social bookmarking tool of choice to help this website gain some more readers.  If you provide a backlink to this website, make sure to let me know and I will reciprocate.

Thank you very much.

Have fun.

New SEO Tools: SERPS Checker and Backlinks Checker Free

OK, so if you are like me you obsess on your Search Engine Ranking Position (SERPS.)  Over the past three years I have developed a manual method to search Google by keyword.

First I would go to advanced search and set the number of returns to be 100 per page instead of 10 per page.  Then I would type in the keyword that I have been trying to rank for and do the search.  You end up with 100 search results and of course you are trying to see if you are in the top 10 or even the top 100.

So then I used to scroll down one by one until I found my own listing and count my position.  Well about a year or so ago I discovered a way to not have to actually count the returns.  When you locate your listing you hover your mouse pointer over the grayed out word: “cached” near the bottom of the listing, and in the very long string of totally non-nonsensical characters at the bottom of the screen you look for the [CD= number] and that will be your SERPS position number.

So I talked to several programmer friends and asked if a script could be written to do all of this automatically.  At first the answer was always, sure, no problem, but when I asked for an actual price quote to do this everyone decided that they did not want to do it.

I even asked a very well known internet marketer to help me develop it and we would share the profits.  Didn’t happen.  I have been doing some VA business with people in the Philippines and in India both, and had put out feelers to get a price for programming such a tool, and suddenly it appeared in front of me developed by I don’t know who.

All I do know is that this thing is very helpful and the best thing is that it is totally free to use.  You can sign up for a free account and use it as much as you like to check all of your SERPS.  They also have a backlink checker that will show you how many backlinks you have coming to any url.

The website is new as of December 3rd and I can not figure out who owns this site, but it matters not.  It works and works well.  There is a message on one screen that says they have a paid version that will keep continuous tracking of your requests and will send you an email on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.  The only thing is that link does not work and there is no indication as to why.

Perhaps it is just in the free beta version and the paid version will come along later.

So the site is http://easyseotracking.com/

Go there, check your SERPS and Backlinks.

PS: this just in.  I have found the best way to get free dot gov and dot edu backlinks.  You will need the authority codes to find the right ones and you can download the free pdf at the link shown.

Income Blogging Guide is Here

I met Andrew through a Blog post here on LinkMoney.org, first as a commenter and later as a correspondent.  I have come to know that he speaks honestly and he sincerely wants to help people achieve their online income goals.

During the creation of the Income Blogging Guide Membership Course, Andrew and Joel completed a poll on the number of ‘internet related’ products individuals had purchased.

You may not believe the results but 32% of those who responded had purchased over 20 ‘make money on the internet’ type products.

That’s almost 1 in 3 had purchased over 20 products.

One guy actually said, “I ticked the more than 20 box in the vote, only because there isn’t one that says more than 50!”

I’m sure he’s not alone.

Why do we buy so many make money online products?

Because they all promise some form of “overnight success”. You see the seller standing in front of the flashy cars and big mansions and you think, “I want some of that”.

However, the products they sell tend to be full of the same old theory. They grab your $97 and you never seen them again. And they certainly don’t care whether you benefited or even used the product. They take your cash and run.

You are then feeling all alone and if you were to shout ‘HELP!’ you certainly would not be heard. You have less in your wallet and a book. Well whoopee-do!

But I am telling you it’s different with Andrew & Joel. These are the first guys who have come out and said:

“Our course is NOT a silver bullet to making money on-line”

“Our course will NOT make you rich overnight”

BUT what they do say is:

“What our course does show you is how to build a solid on-line Internet business that will generate income for you on autopilot AND enable you to reduce your working hours so you get some freedom and time back into your life…but NOT overnight and with some hard work.”

That is quite refreshing, don’t you think?

They are being up front – in fact their sales letter will tell you how much they expect you to be earning after you finish the course and no it’s not anything like $10k. They are being open, honest and not keeping anything back.

I think that’s different to the normal hyped-up sales approach.

Joel and Andrew care about you and your business.

They won’t be running away as soon as you’ve put your credit card away…not with the bonuses they have on offer, at least.

And Joel is the blogging mentor to some of the world’s biggest and most famous bloggers. You cannot get better support than that.

If you’ve been looking for someone who cares about YOUR success, YOUR business, I thoroughly recommend you check out The Income Blogging Guide Membership Course. Here’s the link: Income Blogging Guide

I can only recommend that you act now.

(The links within this post are not affiliate links. I am recommending this course not to earn any income but because I believe many of you will benefit from the step-by-step approach to making you own on-line business).

How to Force a Web Submit Site into Fast Index Mode!

So you have done your keyword research and have written a killer post on your Blog, now what?  You wait for the search engines to find it.  After all, until the search engines smile on you and give you a high ranking position for your keyword of choice, very few people will see your article amidst the billions of articles posted every day.

Sure some of your fans will read it via their email subscription or their RSS subscription to your Blog feed, but you could count on them reading it anyway.  What you need is a world wide web submit site for a fast index.

You must be indexed.  Indexing occurs often on popular blogs because the search engines know those of you who post often with new, fresh, exciting content and those little index spiders will come back and crawl your site several times a day if you are an A-Blogger, whatever that is.

So what about a niche site that you care about because you have built a site around a very specific subject or product and you have optimized this site with advertisements or offers that you want to make money with?  You may only post to this niche site once a week or maybe once a month.  The spiders will find it eventually, but they are not hanging around outside your hosting portal just waiting for you to feed them with new digits.

So what do you do to call them in and say “Hey spiders, I’ve got some new awesome content!”  Well here is what I suggest.  You probably already have a Facebook (the biggest) and Twitter (the hottest) social network accounts, but what about having more than two dozen real popular social sites that you could post to all at once with just one button?

Well there is just such a magic button out there and it is free.  Ping.fm is my new best friend.  Go there now and get your free account and set it up with all of your social bookmarking sites of choice, and then when you write a post all you have to do is copy the title of the post and the url of your new article into the Ping.fm text box and hit “Ping It!”.  That’s all there is to it you have now announced to up to 30 social sites that you have new content.

I guarantee that the spiders that live at Google, Yahoo and Bing will be running across their webs to come to visit your new post.  You will be indexed almost immediately.  Now that’s what I call a fast index!

Sure it takes a little time to set up Ping.fm but it is worth the effort, I promise.  Here is a list of social sites that you can post to all with one push button; Twitter, Facebook, Ning, Tumblr, Brightkite, FriendFeed, hi5, Delicious, Diigo, Multiply, posterous, Facebook Pages, MySpace, Gtalk Status, AIM Status, LinkeIn, Identi.ca, Plurk, Jaiku, Blogger, Plaxo Pulse, Live Journal, Bebo, Xanga, WordPress.com, Custom URL, Friendster, Koomk, you are, Yammer, Flickr, Utterli, Seesmic, Laconi.ca, Present.ly, Vox, TypePad, ShoutEm, StreetMavens, Radar, MyYearbook, Photobucket, Tagged, MerchantCircle and Yahoo Meme.  This list changes from time to time and more are being added often.

What I do now is to keep Ping.fm open on a page of its own.  Then every time I post, I Ping.fm it.  Every time I comment on another Blog, I Ping.fm it.  Every time I create a back link somewhere on a directory or other website, I Ping.fm it.  Get the idea?  You want traffic?  You can’t handle the traffic that you will get with this web submit site!
