CommentLUV WordPress Plugin Enabled

The wordPress plugin CommentLUV is now installed for an undisclosed testing period.

You will get a link to your website using a keyword that you select by leaving comments on this Blog.

Normally when you leave a comment on a site they ask you for your name, email address and website url. This Blog will keep doing the same thing, however you can choose the keywork or phrase that you want to use by putting it in the name box.

Let’s say your name is Gertrude Blatz and you have a website named LadiesHouseholdFurnishingsAndClothing dot com. Normally you would put “Gertrude” or “Gertrude Blatz” in the name box.

Now let’s say you want to become known as a specialist in and to get high rankings for the keyword phrase “leather pocketbooks.”

Now instead of putting your name in the name box use the keyword phrase “leather pocketbooks.” That way when a reader finds your comment of interest and wants to see what type of a website you have they will click on the keyword phrase to go to your website and you just received a free vote in ranking.

Here’s the deal. This is an experiment and I might pull it at any time for any reason, but you can be sure that if you intend to spam or scam this generous offer I will wish a POX upon you and all of your goats.

Keep the comments relative to the subject, make them interesting and helpful and you will gain great benefits. No one likes negativity so keep it upbeat.

Thank you Gertrude for letting me use you as an example.

  • See, this is an example.

  • FYI: what you have here is keyword luv not commentluv.
commentluv adds a titled last blog post of the comment author to the end of their comment by parsing their feed located at the url they use when they enter a comment, it does nothing to the author name.

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for the input. Something really strange happened and I have not figured it out yet, but what I installed was CommentLUV, but then I described it wrong and indeed gave the description for KeywordLUV as you explained.

Then between yesterday and today I received hundreds of shitty spam comments which I have to keep going in and manually deleting, which I was just doing and was shocked to see that every single one of my plugins had been deactivated somehow! Including Akismet and all of them.

I really don’t know what to do at this point other than to reset everything and try it again.

I’ll write another post to explain all of this after I see what happens today.

  • Very neat! It’s great that you’ve added this plugin to your site.

  • [...] I wrote a previous post about CommentLUV plugin. [...]

  • I think it’s a great idea that you are trying to interact with your readers. I ran across CommentLuv for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I really enjoy it. As I read through comments made on other blogs I can find some very interesting posts that I wouldn’t find otherwise. I may implement it on my blog, but I haven’t made a decision on that yet.

As with most things on the web it works good for some and others, not so much. Its just a matter of preference. I find that i turn it on or off from time to time with experiments.
    Thanks for the comment.

  • True to what most of them said, having commetluv really paved way for you to interact with your readers. But then again, some would just take advantage and go on spamming every minute they got which leaves you devastated on how to delete them.. hehe…

  • That is exactly why I removed it from all of my blogs.

So many people take an advantage of such a good thing. I tried to remove every crappy spammy type comment and just could not keep up, so took ComLuv off.
Thanks for the on topic comment. That’s the way they should be.
    All the best.
