Do You Flog for Links?

Author: Here’s the way I see it. We all Blog, right? Well do you Flog for links?
You’ve heard it all before, write good content and other authority sites will link to you. Bull shit! In your dreams they will. The following procedures are of course nothing that I would do but you might like to know about the possibility of Flogging.
Some Bloggers set up multiple Blogs in every niche market that they intend to Blog in. Then after you have written several good posts on your primary niche marketing Blog, you can then start posting articles in the secondary Blogs, or as I like to call them Flogs, and include some nice anchor text keyword hyperlinks to your primary site. Simple right?
Now if you do decide to follow the Flog trail, make it real. Don’t just put junk articles on the Flogs, take your time and write some decent information. Think about previous articles that you have written on any of your Blog posts on other sites and decide if they would be appropriate to insert a short sentence or two in a previous post and include your anchor text link to…where else?
Another form of a Flog is a miscellaneous or catch-all type of Blog that has no particular theme and might have hundreds of Blog posts in any given category. You will have to be a little creative to come up with ideas on how to build such a site full of content in all different fields, but may I suggest perhaps you think about “RSS”? Some of this content can come from automated feeds as mentioned and some you can easily get for a few dollars as in Private label Rights (PLR) articles.
Don’t bother to tell me about duplicate content because I don’t care to hear it. I know what works, of course not that I have ever tried it personally…
You also might find this site of interest Make Money Online with Niche Support. These people all seem to be master Floggers, not that I would know of course…
Here is another cool place to get as many free links as you feel like applying for. 1 Family Classifieds will let you run free classified ads in any subject category and when you insert your free ad you can make an html anchor text hyperlink. Now don’t that just kick ass?
One new thing that you will notice here on the Blogging Make Money Blog at http://Linkmoney.org is that I have added the plugin for “Top Commentator.” See it over there on the right? Every month the top 5 (for now) commentators will receive a do-follow link in my sidebar. Just leave a good comment and you will be entered. Spammers will be banned.

I agree with you. People will link to good content automatically just in dreams. When I started out, I did not look much for links but now I do not miss any(ethical) opportunity to get a link.
Well Mr I. you are spot on.
Use care and good judgment in link exchanges, make them relevant to the subject, better to be one way links and there is no problem.

That’s an interesting term for it Rich “flogging”
I always called it a blog network. It can be difficult to get top bloggers to link to you but not impossible – it just takes time and patience! You know one good link could make all the difference so just keep working at it.
In the meantime though I recommend a flog (or is that a good flogging LOL) – I started one myself after looking at all the domains I have and centralizing it all so I have only one main “money blog” and a host of “remote/feeder” blogs.
Do you call them flogs because they are feeder blogs? Have you come up with a new online term???

LOL – I thought that I had come up with a new term and was patting myself on the back when I wrote this, but later discovered that there is a rather negative connotation to the internet term of a flog, as meaning Fake Blog. Oh well, maybe we can turn it around slightly and give it a happy face.
Yes I would consider a feeder Blog as a flog, but that’s just me… \grin/

Backlink are really must have thing when we think about blogging. I don’t have much time to create and maintain secondary blog now, may be I do later. What I do is posting my real thoughtful comment, it not only expose you but also give you worthy traffic. I think it’s better to do comment than adding link to Digg or Mixx.
You sure are right that they are important.
My experience suggests that the most valuable are the links that come from an authority Blog in the same niche, and the blogger creates the link with anchor text that matches your subject.
Then good comments left on do-follow Blogs are of great value.
Least of which are social posting links such as digg, Twitter, Stumble, etc.
However I still suggest doing some of of all of these types as it appears more natural.
My attitude is that a link is a link and I will gladly take them in any form.

Back links are a great way to get your blog out there. A good link can bring in a lot of targeted traffic.
There is no better way that I know of to get authority. You must have high quality content but when it comes right down to it, he who has the most links, wins!
