You own a Ruger Handgun and now you want to mount some special optics on it without drilling holes in the handgun. Edge Custom makes a Ruger Scope Mount for most of the Ruger Handgun lines.
Here are some specifications from our Ruger Scope Mount line of non-gunsmithing patented scope mounts.
The Jack-Lite Magnum Mount fits the Ruger Blackhawk, Ruger Super Blackhawk, and the Ruger Redhawk. It is made from aircraft grade aluminum and has a sandblasted finish. The rear sight has to be removed to install this mount. However this mount is not recommended for old model Blackhawks or Super Blackhawks.
The Jack-Lite .22 cal revolver fits Ruger single action revolvers and is made from aircraft grade aluminum with a sand blasted finish. The rear sight must be removed to install this mount also.
The Jack-Lite Ultra-Lite .22cal is the same mount as the Jack-Lite .22cal revolver mount except that it is made from black Delrin. The Delrin is more than strong enough for use in the .22 revolver and is lighter than the aluminum. The finish won’t wear because the finish is the actual black Delrin the mount is made from.
The Claw Mount is for the Ruger .22cal revolver mount. It is made from black anodized aluminum and it is not necessary to remove the rear sight to install this mount. If by some chance your scope breaks this mount can be removed and the original factory rear sight can be used for backup. The only tools needed to remove this mount is an allen wrench and a flat tipped screwdriver.
The Super Redhawk Mount is the same sandblasted aluminum that the other mounts are made of. This mount allows the use of a large diameter red dot that the original Ruger rings won’t fit. It will allow the the installation of anything that fits a weaver base such as a Bushnell Holosight or something similar. The rear sight must be removed to install this base.

Edge Custom makes the ultimate in “Custom Holsters”.
The Ultra-Stealth Handgun Hunting Holster is a true custom design in high tech materials that do not warp or stretch and this custom holster holds the revolver right at the ready for any speed draw situation that you might find yourself in.
This custom holster will hold any revolver, any barrel length, scoped or not scoped. There is no other company that can make such a design as all of Edge Custom products are either patented or patent is pending.
The Delrin material that the holster is made out of is very strong, will not bend or break, and is set screw adjustable to clamp any size revolver by the cylinder only. Delrin has an almost grease like feeling as the handgun slides in or out of the grip. The high tech polymer material will never scratch or mar the handgun.
There is a leather thong safety strap that must always be in place.
The revolver is held so securely that even if you took a tumble down a hill it can not slip out of the grip as long as the safety strap thong is in place.
Once you see your target it is just an instantaneous tug of about an inch and the revolver is immediately in your hand and on target. There is no other speed holster that is any better for the quick draw.
The complete rig and all components are made and assembled in America. The Delrin material is actually machined and not molded, giving it superior strength.
All of Edge Custom Products have a lifetime warranty. Go to the main website and order page at www.edgecustom.com

You might wonder what a “Speed Holster” has to do with hunting. Now I’m going to tell you the secret.
You’re on watch at your favorite stand, looking out over an open field of clover, waiting for that monster buck that you’ve seen in these here parts.
You’ve scouted the area and have spotted it at night to see the feeding and bedding patterns. You know where the water is, where the cover is and which way the wind blows.
You’ve paced off various sections of the field and know the ranges. You probably have stuck some marker sticks in the ground at 50, 100 and 150 yards because in exciting times you just need a little reassurance on range.
You’re on watch, waiting, waiting, waiting. You glance at your wrist watch and suddenly a slight russle of noise. Crap it’s behind you and you do not want to move fast. Slowly you twist you neck and body around a little and sure enough through the dense brush and small trees there is some brown.
Next, horns! The crafty bastard did not come boldly out into your favorite feed area, he snuck up behind you. Why? Well he didn’t get to be a big old ten pointer by being stupid.
You know that if you make any sudden moves there will be a shadow where there once was a trophy. Here is where you need a Speed Holster for Hunting.
If you have to unbutton or open your coat or rain jacket and then pull your big old revolver up and out of your side holster, or draw across your chest and pull your revolver the long way out of a shoulder holster, he is going to see the movement and you will not get a shot.
Now if you have an Edge Custom Ultra-Stealth Handgun Hunting Holster you can be patient, take your time, wait for your best opportunity. When he is in a good spot that you feel is right, all you have to do is an extremely quick draw from this speed holster rig. A draw of an inch and a half and the revolver is on target.
So what’s the secret you say? Well there actually is no secret. It’s just common sense. When the right hunting opportunity is present you will want the very best equipment to have an edge. The Ultra-Stealth Handgun Hunting Holster from Edge Custom (dot com) is the best Speed Holster for Hunting on earth.
It’s all about speed and stealth of movement.

Well, I’ll talk a bit more about Red Dots since we’re on the subject.
About the time I was testing Red Dots on my .44 Mag and had many unanswered questions in my mind, an old friend of mine came out to camp for the weekend with his family including an 11-year old boy and a 9-year old girl.
I asked Lyle and his wife if they would mind if the kids could take part in an experiment based on a theory I had been working on. So under my closest supervision, we started. I had 2 pellet pistols. I mounted Red Dots on each of them.
The 2 kids had never shot or handled a gun of any kind. I showed them how to hold and put the Dot on the target and shoot. At 7 good paces, 21 feet, we started shooting beer cans. They very rarely missed. We all had a great time. The kids did not want to stop.
Phase 1 of my experiment was over. The next morning I took the Red Dots off the pellet guns and after breakfast, I asked the kids if they were up for shooting again. Boy were they ever. So I brought out the air pistols and showed them how to sight with iron sights and we started. After about 30 rounds each, I had to move the cans closer by half the distance. They were unable to hit a can!
We started again with very little success. The experiment was over. The kids were bored and went to play at the creek. As they played, I re-mounted a Red Dot on one of the pellet pistols, tweaked it in and we brought it to the kids. The girl was ready to try it first. So I pointed at a wildflower about 15 feet away and she took it off at the stem and we were off again…..I gave the gun to Lyle for his kids. I had no choice but it was worth it for three good reasons.
Number 1 - I proved that anyone can pick up a handgun with a Red Dot on it and hit the target. This is good because a lot of handgun hunters don’t practice like they should. Reason being time and or money are big factors.
Then they go hunting and miss or wound an animal. Not good for the animal and the shooter becomes very discouraged. Self-confidence drops in handgun shooting and they become bored hunting with a handgun.
Number 2 - It requires a lot less practice to become a better handgun shot with a Red Dot. I’m not promoting less practice. The more the better, but the time and money factor is still there in today’s world.
Number 3 - They will never get bored with handgun shooting or handgun hunting and are more apt to promote the sport to others. My theory is now fact.

Dan,
My husband Levi bought a Stealth Hunter Holster about two years ago.
We both hunt with handguns. He uses a scope and I use a Red Dot.
Levi said he would never hunt with another holster, so I tried it out for a few days.
The next thing he was doing was calling Dan at Edge Custom to get another one for “himself.” For I will never use another type of hunting holster either.
Thanks a lot.
Tamir Tuson,
and Levi says Hi too.
Still at the truck, I elected not to load the .44 Magnum until I got up into the ladder stand. There was only about a 600 yard walk in the dark, no flashlight.
I shot a 6-pointer about 7:30 at 80 yards. It was like cheating with that Red Dot. Got him field-dressed and back to the truck. All I could think about was how guilty I felt for all the years, I did it the hard way with iron sights.
All the time I walked to the deer stand with my 44 Magnum and sitting in the stand until 7:30 was how to carry a loaded, scoped handgun. I didn’t like the only holster out there at the time for a scoped handgun.
So back to the shop I went. Hunting with a handgun for years, I knew what I needed. Safety, speed and stealth.
Back to the drawing board…all winter, spring, summer, then into fall. The night before opening day, at last I had a plastic holster, out of black Delrin, a cross-draw with supporting shoulder strap. Wow was it crude! But it was safe, fast and very stealth of movement.
Opening day, back in the same place. Get out of my truck, put on the holster and loaded the .44 Mag and, in the dark, I started out for my deer stand. All the time I was walking I couldn’t believe how comfortable the holster was. I stopped several times to draw it out.
Hell I was so impressed, if it hadn’t been for all the hunting clothes I had on, I would have patted myself on the back.
In the ladder stand I saw 3 bucks before 11 am. One way out and moving fast and two smaller bucks I let go. I decided to go back down to the truck because I left my granola bars there.
About 12:30 I started back up. I was about 70 yards from the truck. By the way the truck was parked about a quarter of a mile from the road in my neighbor’s field. Anyway, I picked up movement to my right about 150 yards.
Standing very still, an 8-pointer, a doe and a much larger 8-pointer came running out about 70 yards ahead of me. I picked up the 2nd 8-pointer, put the Dot about 2 feet in front of his nose because they were flat-out running and down he went. He got back up and I put the Dot on him again and it was over.
The gun was holstered until the last seconds when I drew and fired. The season was over and I went back to the drawing boards to improve my idea.
That brought me to the Stealth Hunter Holster and the rest is history… (To be continued.)

The sun was just up on opening day of NYS Deer Season. I could see movement about 85 yards out from my ladder stand. Putting the binoculars up, a nine-pointer was in the corner of an overgrown meadow, broadside to me.
Raising the Ruger Super BlackHawk, I put the front site of the shoulder area. Of course the width of the front site covers a lot of the deer at that range but that wasn’t the problem. In trying to focus the rear site and the front site, I had a problem.
The light, the background, the eyes were all contributing factors. I could not focus on the front and rear site at the same time. Under hunting conditions, it’s a must.
I didn’t shoot that deer that year and the long NYS winter set in. I knew I had to come up with a scope mount for my Ruger that I could be happy with… without drilling and tapping. So into the shop I went. Drew up the first prototype and then the second, third, fourth, fifth, and then I had one.
Fired up the milling machine and went to work. All winter, all summer, into fall, made, re-designed and made again. All of that along with 4,000 rounds of testing all at the same time.
Finally, I had a great mount. I decided on a Red Dot 4 minute of angle. I knew a single sighting plane was what I needed. Man, was I shocked. Shooting with a Red Dot was like cheating the traditional way of sighting. You know… line up the front sight, put front sight on target, line up rear sight to front sight and then try to stay on target. DUH !
I have used iron sights for years, have shot metallic silhouette rams out to 200 meters with great success. Class A Shooter! I’ve hunted rabbits, squirrels and about 25 nice bucks but the Red Dot ….well put the dot on the target and pull the trigger. It doesn’t get any better than that for hunting under any conditions. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
Opening Day the next year getting out of my truck and realizing I don’t have a way of carrying my loaded scoped handgun safely in the woods without a holster. You know ice, snow, frost, slippery sticks…I needed a holster for a scoped handgun.
Here we go again… (To be continued.)

Dan,
Aloha from Hawaii.
Received the holster today and love it.
The pictures do not do it justice, a fine piece of craftsmanship.
I found the adjustment procedure easy to follow and do.
The holster is comfortable to wear and makes my revolver drawing easy.
My S&W 460XVR now has a great carrier when we go hunting.
Thanks.
Mike Hogan
(We LOVE to receive letters like this, and we have been working on making the pictures and videos a little easier to view and understand.)
Thanks Mike for this nice letter.

This is number three of three videos showing the ease of use of the Edge Custom Ultra-Stealth Hunting Holster.
You will note the speed and minimal movement necessary to draw and aim the revolver. The Delrin clamp grips the handgun by the cylinder and then it is only a short tug of about an inch and a half to have the handgun at the ready.
Mind the hammer spur safety strap. It is mandatory to have the leather thong hammer spur safety strap over the handgun hammer spur at all times until ready to draw the handgun. witness the video demonstration and you will observe the necessary use of the safety strap.
