How to Force a Web Submit Site into Fast Index Mode!
So you have done your keyword research and have written a killer post on your Blog, now what? You wait for the search engines to find it. After all, until the search engines smile on you and give you a high ranking position for your keyword of choice, very few people will see your article amidst the billions of articles posted every day.
Sure some of your fans will read it via their email subscription or their RSS subscription to your Blog feed, but you could count on them reading it anyway. What you need is a world wide web submit site for a fast index.
You must be indexed. Indexing occurs often on popular blogs because the search engines know those of you who post often with new, fresh, exciting content and those little index spiders will come back and crawl your site several times a day if you are an A-Blogger, whatever that is.
So what about a niche site that you care about because you have built a site around a very specific subject or product and you have optimized this site with advertisements or offers that you want to make money with? You may only post to this niche site once a week or maybe once a month. The spiders will find it eventually, but they are not hanging around outside your hosting portal just waiting for you to feed them with new digits.
So what do you do to call them in and say “Hey spiders, I’ve got some new awesome content!” Well here is what I suggest. You probably already have a Facebook (the biggest) and Twitter (the hottest) social network accounts, but what about having more than two dozen real popular social sites that you could post to all at once with just one button?
Well there is just such a magic button out there and it is free. Ping.fm is my new best friend. Go there now and get your free account and set it up with all of your social bookmarking sites of choice, and then when you write a post all you have to do is copy the title of the post and the url of your new article into the Ping.fm text box and hit “Ping It!”. That’s all there is to it you have now announced to up to 30 social sites that you have new content.
I guarantee that the spiders that live at Google, Yahoo and Bing will be running across their webs to come to visit your new post. You will be indexed almost immediately. Now that’s what I call a fast index!
Sure it takes a little time to set up Ping.fm but it is worth the effort, I promise. Here is a list of social sites that you can post to all with one push button; Twitter, Facebook, Ning, Tumblr, Brightkite, FriendFeed, hi5, Delicious, Diigo, Multiply, posterous, Facebook Pages, MySpace, Gtalk Status, AIM Status, LinkeIn, Identi.ca, Plurk, Jaiku, Blogger, Plaxo Pulse, Live Journal, Bebo, Xanga, WordPress.com, Custom URL, Friendster, Koomk, you are, Yammer, Flickr, Utterli, Seesmic, Laconi.ca, Present.ly, Vox, TypePad, ShoutEm, StreetMavens, Radar, MyYearbook, Photobucket, Tagged, MerchantCircle and Yahoo Meme. This list changes from time to time and more are being added often.
What I do now is to keep Ping.fm open on a page of its own. Then every time I post, I Ping.fm it. Every time I comment on another Blog, I Ping.fm it. Every time I create a back link somewhere on a directory or other website, I Ping.fm it. Get the idea? You want traffic? You can’t handle the traffic that you will get with this web submit site!

Rich…Many thanks for this article. My MaxBlossPress Ping Optimizer apparently does not cover the social sites. It also fails to get a ping through about 80% of the time. I was worried about overpinging, although it seems not to be an issue with ping.fm.
Keep up the good work! See you at BlogSuccess.
Cheers,
Dennis
Hi Dennis,
I am so grateful to BlogSuccess for all I have learned there. In fact this Ping.fm utility was first brought to my attention by Rusty Moore the very successful internet marketer who shares so much with the members. All I have done with it is to use it more and more each day and then I just had to write about it and share with my readers.
Thanks for letting me know you liked the artucke.
Rich
Social media are awesome for getting your content indexed quickly. When I first started doing social bookmarking I use to be fanatical about making sure ALL of the sites were notified now I just focus on Digg, Stumbleupon and a few others. These seem to be the ones I focus on for the most part. Also another way to get indexed fast are web-stat sites. I had a list of about 20 or so where if you had them search out your site google would have your site indexed within 24 hours more often then not
Great comment. StumbleUpon is good for getting indexed but most of the visitors do not stick, they just keep stumbling to the next site. DIGG is pretty good for getting targeted traffic,
Thanks for the input.
That is wild. I really need to start using this. I can’t believe it is free. Is it only for social sites?
I just recently started using ping.fm , i signed up for every social networking site they have listed, their are errors with a few of them and it won’t connect. but that is ok. i have a few domains i am working with and all have been indexed almost immediatly and are raising up the search rankin daily, highly recommended
