New SEO Tools: SERPS Checker and Backlinks Checker Free
OK, so if you are like me you obsess on your Search Engine Ranking Position (SERPS.) Over the past three years I have developed a manual method to search Google by keyword.
First I would go to advanced search and set the number of returns to be 100 per page instead of 10 per page. Then I would type in the keyword that I have been trying to rank for and do the search. You end up with 100 search results and of course you are trying to see if you are in the top 10 or even the top 100.
So then I used to scroll down one by one until I found my own listing and count my position. Well about a year or so ago I discovered a way to not have to actually count the returns. When you locate your listing you hover your mouse pointer over the grayed out word: “cached” near the bottom of the listing, and in the very long string of totally non-nonsensical characters at the bottom of the screen you look for the [CD= number] and that will be your SERPS position number.
So I talked to several programmer friends and asked if a script could be written to do all of this automatically. At first the answer was always, sure, no problem, but when I asked for an actual price quote to do this everyone decided that they did not want to do it.
I even asked a very well known internet marketer to help me develop it and we would share the profits. Didn’t happen. I have been doing some VA business with people in the Philippines and in India both, and had put out feelers to get a price for programming such a tool, and suddenly it appeared in front of me developed by I don’t know who.
All I do know is that this thing is very helpful and the best thing is that it is totally free to use. You can sign up for a free account and use it as much as you like to check all of your SERPS. They also have a backlink checker that will show you how many backlinks you have coming to any url.
The website is new as of December 3rd and I can not figure out who owns this site, but it matters not. It works and works well. There is a message on one screen that says they have a paid version that will keep continuous tracking of your requests and will send you an email on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. The only thing is that link does not work and there is no indication as to why.
Perhaps it is just in the free beta version and the paid version will come along later.
So the site is http://easyseotracking.com/
Go there, check your SERPS and Backlinks.
