What Is Your DNfame? Increase Your Ranking

Filed under: backlinks — rich @ 12:08 pm

Wow, Twitter never ceases to amaze me. One of my latest Twitter followers is DNfame.

So naturally I checked out the associated link and was blown away! DNfame dot com is a F.R.E.E. Tool that almost instantly reports on tons of metrics for any domain name that you type in the search box.

It couldn’t be any easier. Go to the website, type in the url you want to check and as fast as your ISP connection will allow, it returns all of the data listed below:

Rank Data:
Google GPR
Alexa Rank
Famous Rank
Compete
Quantcast
Technorati Rank
Technorati Authority

Listings Data:
DMOZ
Yahoo Directory
Archive dot org

Search Engine Backlinks:
Google
Yahoo
Alltheweb
AltaVista
Alexa Search
Lycos
Cuil

Social Resources:
Delicious
Furl
Reddit
Su.bscri.be
Faves
Clipmark
Blogmarks
Propeller
Jumptags

This is a very humbling experience when you search on your own children. Websites that you have worked extremely hard on for a year or more returning paltry numbers might have a tendency to discourage you after all of the effort that you have put in to it.

I would prefer to take that data and make a plan to sally forth and do battle! Knowing what you know now by using this tool you should be able to go out and kick some ass. Find your weak points and compare them against your competition and you will instantly discover what you have to do to excel.

I must admit I have never heard of some of the sites that are used in this tool, but they probably all bear looking in to. DMOZ is so hard to get in to and Google says they use the information on that site quite a bit so I would like to know what one has to do to get listed in DMOZ.

I have always been of the opinion that I don’t care where my sites rank in the above stats, and that it is more important to work on getting your keywords to rank on the first page of Google. I actually still believe that, but it wouldn’t hurt to work on improving the above stats and in turn that would likely help your keyword ranking. The proof will be in the pudding.

Thanks to DNfame.com for twittering and a VERY BIG THANKS for letting me know about this FABULOUS TOOL !!!

ps: If you want to rank up there with someone that I have written about many times on this blog, whose name shall remain annonymous, but whose initials are GCDC, you need to go out and get 33,300 Google Backlinks.

Let us know how you rank by commenting on this Blog.

New Social Site Echodemic is in Beta - Promote Your Blog

Filed under: social — rich @ 11:30 pm

Here is a new social networking site, Echodemic dot com, that allows you to cross-post your Blog articles and have them voted (echoed) on.

Echodemic dot com is in Beta and by the number of Blog posts it must have just started recently. It is sort of a DIGG like experience except that you post your whole article on their site and their readers and members get to read it and give it an “Echo” vote.

The articles that receive the most echoes move to the front page of Echodemic and you will get interested parties coming back to your website to see what else you have to offer.

This could be a great free traffic generator and will bring the type of visitor that is interested in what you have to say.

I just posted my first article and it does not have any echoes yet, but it should be fairly easy to move to the front page because it is so new that the highest echo count for most of the “best of” are only around seven (now 15) echoes or so.

I would really appreciate it if you readers of this Blog would go there and check it out. Click on the tab for “Most recent” posts and find mine that is titled “The Niche Doctor Cures WordPress Code,” and give it an “Echo.” I did alter the text a tiny bit from my Blog post of the same subject, but I don’t know if that is really necessary or not.

If you want to keep track of my posts, my user name is “linkmoneydotorg.”

Thanks much and you will no doubt want to register and become an Echodemic.com member also.

Everything is FREE of course.

I’m Rich !

ps:  This is an addition to this post.  I am asking three things of you readers.

1st - Please subscribe to this Blog with either the RSS or Email buttons.  (For six months I had them set up wrong and am just now rebuilding my subscriber base.)

2nd - Please give this post a thumbs up Stumble.  (I am not a big fan of StumbleUpon but did recieve a ton of new traffic from there today.)

3rd - Please visit Echodemic and give my post an echo (vote)  Only six more echoes needed to be in 1st place!  Thank you all so much.

Let’s Get Social

Filed under: social — rich @ 9:17 pm

Social Networking and Web 2.0, is where all the buzz is these days. StumbleUpon, Digg, Del.icio.us, and many others can help to make you famous beyond imagination. Getting posted on any of these sites is very helpful when tring to make one of your favorite websites famous.

By getting posted on some of these social sites you will gain permanent inbound links that should help towards increasing your own GPR. You will read differing opinions on Google’s value regarding this type of website promotion. Some mmo Blogs will tell you that it is not good to get this type of promotion, and that the Big G will spank you for gaining these type of links. Other seemingly just as sincere writers will tell you to go for all that you can get.

If you have a site that Get’s Hot, Goes Viral, Hits the First Page, or just gets the buzz going, you will gain recognition world wide. Traffic equals fame and fortune.

Any way, a link is a link, and I’ll take them any way I can get them.

Here are some of the more popular, or better known social sites. A higher GPR number ranking is better for link juice.

Del.icio.us - GPR-9
Technorati - GPR-8
Digg - GPR-8
StumbleUpon - GPR-8
Diigo - GPR-4
Reddit - GPR-8
Co.mments - GPR-7
Sphinn - GPR-6

There are probably more than a hundred more.

One place that you can get a lot of notariety all at one time is by having an account with Onlywire. This social site has a GPR-5 on it’s own, but you can sign up for 22 different social accounts and promote your website of interest on all 22 with just one hit.

On each of the bookmarking sites you will be able to share your links with your friends and see their links also. Keep track of those that you follow or that follow you, and see where they are surfing. You will have to sign up for an account and get a user name and password for each of the 22 sites, but once you have done that you can do a whole lot of promotion with just one click of the mouse.

Here is a list of the 22 social bookmarks available at this time through Onlywire, “The only bookmarklet you will ever need.”
Backflip - GPR-6 - Gets you back to the good stuff.
BibSonomy - GPR-7 - For books, literature and sites of biblio interest.
Blinklist - GPR-7 - Never lose your way again.

Faves (formerly Blue Dot?) - GPR-6 - Sites you’ll love, from people like you.
De.lirio.us - GPR-6 - Shrinking the web. Target your search to geographical areas.
Del.icio.us - GPR-9 - All your bookmarks in one place.
Diigo - GPR-4 - Highlight and add sticky notes.

Furl - GPR-8 - A social bookmarking site that makes it easy to save, share and explore favorite websites.
Linkatopia - GPR-5 - You can designate links as public, friends only, or private.
Linkroll - GPR-4 - Linkroll is not a place to store private bookmarks, everything is public.
Looklater - (Listed in Onlywire, but not found by my browser.)
Ma.gnolia - GPR-4 - Discover, share and discuss the best of the web.
Markaboo - GPR-5 - Better bookmarks for everyone.
Rawsugar - GPR-6 - Sweeten your content.

Unalog - GPR-6 - You can look at what various people and groups of people are reading on the web here.
Wink - GPR-6 - Free People Search Engine: Search over 400 million profiles to find people you are looking for.
Xilinus - GPR-(Not shown) - Looks like a simple bookmark site. Has low alexa numbers so it must get quite a bit of activity.
