Does Any Average Blogger Make Money with Tweets that are Sponsored?
Are you an “A” blogger or just an average kinda blogger? It is a possibility that it makes a very BIG difference as to whether or not you can make money on Twitter with tweets that are sponsored by advertisers.
You have heard several A bloggers proclaim the virtues of this fabulous method of making serious money online. You sign up with an advertising company as an affiliate Twitter advertiser and you input your Twitter name and real quick they will tell you how much advertisers will be willing to pay for you just tweeting their ads.
Of course the program explains that your number of Twitter followers makes a difference in the payment per tweet amount. So I signed up, after all I have about 10,000 followers and that’s nothing to sneeze at. Holy smokes they say that advertisers will be willing to pay about twenty bucks per tweet, do I want to activate my account? Hell yes!
So I gave them my name, address, contacts and social security number, after all I will have to report my hundreds of thousands of dollars of income from this new program right? All I would have to do is sit back, relax and wait for the advertising offers to come rolling in.
Chirp, chirp, chirp, not even a peep to tweet. So I’m thinking maybe $20 is too much, lets lower it to $18, silence, lower to $15, nothing, lower to $9 per tweet.
The pins dropping around here are deafening.
Okay, so lower it right down to five bucks and lets get this sucker moving, right?
Nothing, no offers. I could become a lot more famous by putting my hat on sideways and pants on the floor.
So I took the banner ads down. I never promote anything that I do not believe in, and then I notice that this big time advertising company is running a massive campaign to sign up more affiliate publishers and they seem to be giving away just about every major computer toy that anyone would ever want, for just signing up with them as a Twitter advertiser.
Now this got me to thinking. Who told me about this in the first place? Well as I recall it was John Chow, certainly an A blogger, and I signed up under his affiliate link. I believe John when he tells how much money he is making with this program. After all he and the other A bloggers are the very best word of mouth promoters aren’t they?
Looking back, I have some thoughts that came to mind, lets see what you think.
Suppose an advertising company could sign up millions of affiliate tweeters, and suppose that company could build a gigantic database of names, contacts, and “Social Security Numbers”! Would that database have value?
I seem to recall once on one of the credit card company affiliate programs I looked in to, but did not sign up for, that they considered the full name, address, contact and SS numbers as being worth $35.00 each. Now I am not saying that this is an ulterior motive for this particular advertising company, but it does come to mind.
Lets hear it from all of you satisfied tweeters out there. All of you average Joes, and mommy bloggers, and hobbyists, that tweet for sponsored ads. Please share with our readers as to whether or not you have made a ton of money with this program, or if in fact you have made “any” money with this program.
I have a feeling that it will be primarily the big names in the blogging world that are seeing any cash flow. I know that advertising on Twitter does work and that people do make money with Twitter ads. For instance, Leo LaPorte, the tech guy, told on a recent podcast that just before he left for the CES show in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago that Ford offered him $10,000 for just one retweet of a Ford ad. Leo being the most ethical guy that I know of on the internet turned the offer down.
Please let us know your thoughts.
How to Force a Web Submit Site into Fast Index Mode!
So you have done your keyword research and have written a killer post on your Blog, now what? You wait for the search engines to find it. After all, until the search engines smile on you and give you a high ranking position for your keyword of choice, very few people will see your article amidst the billions of articles posted every day.
Sure some of your fans will read it via their email subscription or their RSS subscription to your Blog feed, but you could count on them reading it anyway. What you need is a world wide web submit site for a fast index.
You must be indexed. Indexing occurs often on popular blogs because the search engines know those of you who post often with new, fresh, exciting content and those little index spiders will come back and crawl your site several times a day if you are an A-Blogger, whatever that is.
So what about a niche site that you care about because you have built a site around a very specific subject or product and you have optimized this site with advertisements or offers that you want to make money with? You may only post to this niche site once a week or maybe once a month. The spiders will find it eventually, but they are not hanging around outside your hosting portal just waiting for you to feed them with new digits.
So what do you do to call them in and say “Hey spiders, I’ve got some new awesome content!” Well here is what I suggest. You probably already have a Facebook (the biggest) and Twitter (the hottest) social network accounts, but what about having more than two dozen real popular social sites that you could post to all at once with just one button?
Well there is just such a magic button out there and it is free. Ping.fm is my new best friend. Go there now and get your free account and set it up with all of your social bookmarking sites of choice, and then when you write a post all you have to do is copy the title of the post and the url of your new article into the Ping.fm text box and hit “Ping It!”. That’s all there is to it you have now announced to up to 30 social sites that you have new content.
I guarantee that the spiders that live at Google, Yahoo and Bing will be running across their webs to come to visit your new post. You will be indexed almost immediately. Now that’s what I call a fast index!
Sure it takes a little time to set up Ping.fm but it is worth the effort, I promise. Here is a list of social sites that you can post to all with one push button; Twitter, Facebook, Ning, Tumblr, Brightkite, FriendFeed, hi5, Delicious, Diigo, Multiply, posterous, Facebook Pages, MySpace, Gtalk Status, AIM Status, LinkeIn, Identi.ca, Plurk, Jaiku, Blogger, Plaxo Pulse, Live Journal, Bebo, Xanga, WordPress.com, Custom URL, Friendster, Koomk, you are, Yammer, Flickr, Utterli, Seesmic, Laconi.ca, Present.ly, Vox, TypePad, ShoutEm, StreetMavens, Radar, MyYearbook, Photobucket, Tagged, MerchantCircle and Yahoo Meme. This list changes from time to time and more are being added often.
What I do now is to keep Ping.fm open on a page of its own. Then every time I post, I Ping.fm it. Every time I comment on another Blog, I Ping.fm it. Every time I create a back link somewhere on a directory or other website, I Ping.fm it. Get the idea? You want traffic? You can’t handle the traffic that you will get with this web submit site!
The Power of Using Twitter Advanced Search
sub title:
” Kill the Competition on Twitter! “
Twitter will no doubt be using search in their master money plan. You should too! Here at Linkmoney our following and follower base has been growing immensely using this and other methods.
I have been using a method to use Twitter Search to narrow down some excellent tweeple to follow with a little used method that Twitter gives you for free!
Note when you log in to Twitter you will see a great big search box, which is why I say that they will be monetizing soon with search ads. The method that you will want to use is not with that search box though.
Go instead to http://search.twitter.com and you will find a more sophisticated search form that allows you to use Boolean search methods without having to know boo.
If you have a product or a service that you are selling, and who does not? Then you will want to click on the Advanced Search link and use the following format to get ahead of the competition.
The search form fields are:
All of these words:
This exact phrase:
Any of these words:
None of these words:
This hashtag:
Written in: (select language)
So for the example shown, and I’m sure you will come up with a million better ways, I selected; All of these words: buy, Any of these words: music iphone zune blackberry, None of these words: http www.
As the photo here shows by inserting specific qualifiers in your search string you have not only narrowed the users down to users in your specific niche, you have eliminated all the other competitors.

Twitter Advanced Search
How does this work? Simple, by using the “None of these words” field and inserting both http and www you have effectively eliminated all the other competitors that are trying to sell something, because you have searched for all messages with no “LINKS”.
Now go out there and get some followers that are looking to buy just exactly what ever it is you are selling!

ps: If you have some tips on how to use Twitter Advanced Search we would love to hear about them. Please send comments.
How I Added 5,000 plus Followers on Twitter in Two Months
First of all I am not promoting any automated giddy gadget and this will not cost you one red cent. This post is straight up as to how I added 5,000 plus followers on Twitter in two months.
I wrote a post last month about how I had started to build my Twitter followers list from a paltry 200 to 300 followers using @ALLTOP for locating quality tweeple to follow. You can read the previous post here:
How to Get Targeted Quality Followers on Twitter
![]() |
Well I still do that because ALLTOP.com is a directory of high quality websites in all fields of interest and once your site is accepted into their directory they grab your RSS feed and keep updating every time you post. They do not accept everyone but if you want good ranking and to see your site improving with more subscribers you should submit to ALLTOP if you think you have what it takes. They are looking for a few good Blogs. Because an actual human being goes out and verifies each website for content quality you can be assured that these sites are the best in their field. So find their Twitter name, follow them, retweet some of their posts and then most important, follow their followers.
So lately I am using another well known resource to find things to tweet about. I use StumbleUpon regularly to find things that interest me and then I copy the title of an article from the Stumbled website and paste it into the Twitter message box, go back and make a tinyURL from the address line and copy that in to Twitter and there you have it. You have just tweeted something of interest to your followers and very often many of them will retweet that post to their followers and suddenly you will have new tweeple following you. Not to mention that you often get a thank you from the original article poster when they get a message that you tweeted about them.
Now how to break through some of the Twitter built in stumbling blocks. Twitter likes to see your twitter messages as being of value. Following the above they will be. Then they do not want to see automated programs trying to game the system, though many of these do work you stand the chance of doing one wrong move and suddenly you will be banned. Not worth the chance to me, so I use manual tried and true methods.
I usually follow anywhere from 50 to 200 new tweeps a day, selected with care from other followers lists. If they are using the default image I usually do not follow them, not that I am elite or anything it is just that they are not likely to be a sophisticated Twitter user yet. If they do not bother to upload an image than I usually pass them by unless I know them.
By selecting your followers manually you can avoid “some” of the spammers and porn idiots. If you use an automated follower tool they will be in your list and then your followers might be apt to place you in the ranks of the crappy tweeples and you do not want that.
When you get up near 2,000 followers you want to go in and drop your list of people that you are following down below your followers count. That way Twitter will not hold you back from going beyond 2,000.
Once you have over 2,000 and less than 4,000 followers you will do best to keep the ratio of following to followers to about + 10% or less. Then once you are over 4,000 it seems as though Twitter will let you follow as many as you want every day, but I still keep to my 50 to 200 and my list just keep growing and growing. I am now over 5,500 and many of them come in organically on their own.
Oh and with the StumbleUpon trick your followers will think you are a genius. So go for it.
I’m Rich
I Blog Therefore I Tweet another Linkmoney first
Do you get sick of the hype about all the free traffic generators to use for Twitter? Well here is another one, only catch is this one won’t cost you any money! Did you ever notice how Linkmoney, (link and money) seem to go so well together? (Andy Rooney)
The usual thing to do with a Twitter account is to write catchy little twips that will grab the reader’s attention so that they will click on your link right? OK, so if your are a genius with a razor sharp wit you can keep the energy level high and generate new stuff every few minutes and each one of your posts just might grab a new visitor to your Blog or to purchase your giddy gadget-du-jour.
What happens after the scroll? Your pin point sales pitch is gone, as in gone, gone, gone. Sure it might have grabbed a couple of people but once it has scrolled off the radar range you have to dream up some new piece of wisdom and wit to do it all over again, right?
Well no longer boys and girls. Here is a way to rejuvenate your Blog, drive new traffic to your website and it is as easy as 123. You already have your tweet posts right at your fingertips! You are a blogger, right?
You already created some wonderful short clip words of wisdom for your Blog post titles, right? Here is what you do.
Open a text editor and go to your Blog. Click on each Blog post title then take your little mousey and highlight the title, copy, and paste it over to the text editor. Then make a tinyURL for the Blog post URL and copy and paste that over to the text editor. Voila! You now have a tweet that is ready to post.
If you do not have a tinyURL tool of choice, go get one. Google will show you where. I prefer to use the tool at XR.com because it is one of the shortest ones out there. Bit.ly is another, it does not matter which URL shortener you use the object is to get the link to be as short as possible to save some of your 140 character Twitter post.
So now go through your whole Blog and create a title and a link to each of the posts. I know you all created catchy titles when you wrote the Blog posts so these will be sure to be winners on Twitter as well.
Now when you fill that text file with dozens of tweet posts you will have plenty of ammunition to use when ever you want to give a tweet! That is the manual way of course but see what’s next for the Piece-de-resistance!
Here is the free tool that will post these messages for you on a scheduled time program that you define. Use http://feedmytwitter.com. You just log in using your Twitter user name and Twitter password and it is very easy to set up.
My Account: (meaning your account)
Current Status: (running or stopped – you select)
Post Random Tweets: (you select the schedule anywhere from two minutes to hours, day, week, month or whatever.)
Message: (empty text box where you copy and paste each of your tweets that you created on your text editor. Yes you have to do them one at a time, but this is the last time you will have to do it.)
Once they are all pasted in, go down to the bottom and hit “SAVE” – Go back up to the top and hit the “START” button and walk away whistling Dixie!
You are now keeping your brand on Twitter 24/7 and with enough titles that get published randomly your followers will not get upset with you because each of your tweets has a purpose and meaning.
Besides all of that you are now freed up to just occasionally use some of your witty barbs that you are so fond of doing. More is better and it will surely just add to your mystique and your followers will marvel in how intelligent you are.
Oh, and by the way, there is no cost for using Feed My Twitter, honest. Now just watch your social traffic pick up and your followers will increase also.
Do you know of any tools like this that you can recommend to get your message out to millions of people?

Content “IS” King at Blogger LinkUp
You all know that “Content is King” right?
Here is an absolutely FREE (as in, no charge,) place to get, or give, Free Content for your Blog or eBook. This project was one of the best ideas that was ever dreamed up by “The Idea Lady”, Cathy Stucker.
The site is called: Blogger LinkUp and the byline is “Get Content – Get Links.” I found Cathy on Twitter where she is known as @CathyStucker. You will want to read her Blog post on her personal website about how she prefers to use Twitter, and after reading her explanation you should not be upset if she does not follow each and every one of you.
So here is the way Blogger LinkUp works. Sign up with name and email, get a user name and that’s it! Then usually once a business day you will find an email in your inbox from Cathy that is simple and straight to the point. She lists people that are willing to write free content for your own use, with the subject matters defined, and whether or not it is totally new content or if it has been published previously.
Then there also is a list of requests for content wanted, where you can post your own needs and wishes for a guest post authored article and subject. I have received two very well written articles for two of my Blogs and now I am in the process of posting my willingness to write for someone else in return of the favor.
So what is the benefit you ask? Well it is quite simple, sometimes you get in a rut with your Blog writing style and a little injection of new blood from another author might be just the shot in the arm that you need to spice up your readership. Someone new that is writing about your favorite subject will be sure to have a different slant of view than you do and your site will benefit from it.
What does the writer gain in return you also ask? Well they get to feel good about helping someone out and they get to give their opinion on the given subject and best of all they get a free backlink that is inserted in the published article. It’s a win win and remember “Content IS King”!
So go on over to Blogger LinkUp and register for a user name. It is non-fattening and good for the digestion.

How to Get Targeted Quality Followers on Twitter Using Hash Tags and Alltop
Get Targeted Quality Followers on Twitter
In case you have just awaken from your Rip Van Winkle 20 year nap and have not heard of Twitter, you are missing out on one of the best social linking tools and traffic builders out there.
I have had a Twitter account for almost two years but until about two weeks ago I never tried to use it to its full advantage. When you sign up there are about 20 followers that you can get immediately just by clicking the accept button, and you can also let Twitter into your email address book to find others that are on Twitter, which I refuse to do, and then you start adding followers to your account by writing lots of good posts.
Hold on, you say. “Who will see my posts if I don’t have any followers?” Well you must eat your meat or you can’t have any pudding! Its the old chicken or the egg problem isn’t it?
Targeted Twitter Followers with #hashtags
Here is one way that I started to use recently to find birds of a feather. At the bottom of the Twitter page is a “search” tab. Use that to search for keywords that you want to use to find like minded Twitterers, Tweets, Tweeties, Twotes, Twats.. If you really want to zero in on some users that are “In the know,” use the hash tag symbol (otherwise known as the pound sign or “#”). So lets say you want to find articles about “Make Money Online” or “MMO”. The hash tag search would be #makemoneyonline or #mmo. This will return all articles that use those specific hash tags. These tweets will also be more apt to be from tweeters that are advanced and may have many followers themselves.
Then here is what I did to get followers. When I find a tweet that I like, first I “follow” the writer, then I select, copy and paste the article into the “What are you doing” box and use the “retweet” feature with a reply notice to the writer. To make a reply notification you include the @ sign in front of their name like @linkmoneydotorg. Then you put the retweet symbol which is the two letters RT and then the copied message. Now you have accomplished two things. You have notified the writer that you are following him or her, and you also thought enough of one of their posts to retweet it. Nothing gets attention better than retweets because that is what everyone is hoping for all the time and what helps to make certain messages go viral. This person will no doubt follow you and they might even return the favor some time and retweet some of your posts.
Alltop for Targeted Twitter Followers
Now here is an even better way to find high quality tweeters that are in your niche. go to Alltop.com and select a category of interest. Alltop calls themselves a magazine of the Internet but I look at them as one of the very best sources of Blogs that are in high standing. Not everyone’s Blog is accepted into Alltop and if they are there then you have no fear of ever being scammed or spammed by any of them because Alltop actually vets every single applicant before they are approved.
Now for instance if you select Green, or mmo, or cars, or whatever, as your category of interest you will find dozens or hundreds or thousands of Blogs listed that are in your niche. Click on some of them that interest you and read their Blog posts and if they are in your groove, then look for their Twitter name and go to Twitter and subscribe to their Twitter posts, then follow, then retweet, then rinse and repeat.
Now you can make money with Twitter, Big Time! Click Here!
You will start building a very high quality list of followers that are in your niche. By the way, take a look at the followers of your new found friends because they are probably interested in what you have to say also.
Don’t forget to add links to your own Blog posts or your website of interest or affiliate product landing page, or whatever you want to promote. In the last two weeks I have added about 700 new followers using these methods and you can too.
Click Here! for the Twitter Blueprint to Success.
A good photo of you, a pretty face, or even your company logo or brand will help you get targeted quality followers on Twitter.

Top Nest Position of the Social Networking Websites Belongs to Twitter
You no doubt know the power of Twitter, Digg, StumbleUpon and several other Social Networking Websites online.
This writer has made many nice connections in the past year through the use of these social networking websites. Probably my all time favorite is Twitter because it causes you to think and react in short bursts of creativity. Sometimes just a simple little bit of humor, one liners, so to speak, are enough to bring people to your profile and then that creates traffic to your website.
When I write a post for one of my Blogs that I feel is worthy of some attention, I just post a tiny description of the post on Twitter with a link to the site and traffic builds. The more traffic you get and if you have good content, the visitors will subscribe to either your email or rss feed and you have a potential customer.
Twitter is very easy to use, just get an account and start reading some of the tweets, and “Follow” some of the fellow posters that you are interested in and then maybe they will follow you back. Soon you will have a hundred followers and then more keep coming. Try to make your 140 character posts of interest or exciting and you will soon find many new friends.
I must admit that of all the social networking sites online I probably spend more time on Twitter then all the others put together. I read in a recent report that Twitter’s subscriber rate more than doubled last year. So if you are not a fellow tweet, then hurry on over and join the other rare birds. They say that birds of a feather flock together.
You will want to get yourself a handle that is easily recognized and in some way will represent you at a glance. Mine is linkmoneydotorg for obvious reasons, and my image is actually a favorite photo of my Dad when he finished digging the cellar for our house with a pick, a shovel and a wheelbarrow. Dad would get a kick out of knowing that his picture is scattered all over the world.
If you have a website and you want to put a cute graphical link on it, then you can go to http://www.twitterbuttons.com/ and just put in your Twitter name and select from many of the nice designs available.
One really handy site that will help you keep up on the messages that your friends are posting as well as your @replies and direct messages is to use TweetDeck. The normal Twitter page scrolls by quickly when you have many followers and people you are following. TweetDeck handles this problem nicely. http://www.tweetdeck.com/beta/
Our next post is going to tell you about a place where you can go and see a list of social networking sites and also see if your handle of choice is available on all of them at one time.
Twitter is one of the most popular of all of the social networking websites, but in the next few posts we will be explaining what some of the others are and give our opinion of what the benefits of each are.
Come follow me on Twitter @linkmoneydotorg and I will follow you back.
